Grid Maintenance is scheduled for Friday November 6, 2012 at 6am. One of the issues that will be addressed is the log-in issues residents have had. Maintenance will not take more than 1-2 hours and the grid will be up for log-ins. Please watch here or Facdebook for updates on the grid status when we reopen the grid for log-ins.

Search events now Enabled

Now you can list your inworld events from your account on the web. Simply log into your account, select events. You will be able to select the name, date, start time, length of the event, description, choose a rating for your event, category, and select the location of your event. Don't forget to click "Save This Event". Shortly after posting your event through the website it will become searchable in-world through your viewer.
To post an event you must be a parcel owner of the land where the event is occuring or region owner, or if the land is group owned you must be an owner of the group. Please list each even only 1 time. Do not make multiple listings for the same event. Do not have multiple avatars make posts for the same event. For example: if you are having an all day sale do not list it every 30 min as multiple 30 min events. Just list it as 1 all day event.
For those of you looking for activites iniworld, the Events now being searchable should help you find more things to do and locations to visit in Island Oasis.

Virtual Land store

A previous error with purchasing regions through the Virtual Land Store were not directing the residents to the payment page after they selected the type of region they wanted to order. Thus while a land order was being received the payment wasn't being received. The Virtual Land Store is now functioning properly.

Hypergrid Business Survey

This information minus your email address with be made available to grid owners who wish to see the statistics. Island Oasis is pleased to announce the return of Senior Staff member Will Paolino. Will had long been a respected and hard working Island Oasis Staff member and has now come back to the grid. You can all meet Will Paolino at our next Town Hall Meeting, Thursday November 1, 2012 at 5pm IO time at the region IO HQ.

Island Oasis continues it goal of exemplary Customer Service. Beyond the pethora of ways you can contact Island Oasis staff with any problems you may have, Island Oasis now has a Mantis Issue Tracker. This is a place where you can submit a trouble ticket for inworld issues. You can continue to log in and check the status of the ticket over time to see what is being done to resolve your inworld issue and what the currect status is of the ticket you have submitted.
It is advised to view the current tickets that have already been so that you are not submitting a duplicate one others have already submitted. To get to the Mantis tracker and use it is relatively easy. Click Support at either site (http://islandoasis.biz/ or here at the Island Oasis Information Portal and click the ticket icon. You will be forwarded to our mantis issue tracking system where you will have to create an account (free of charge of course) and submit your issue.

Island Oasis has officially committed themselves Grandfathered Pricing regarding its region sales. As a business owner, (whether its virtual real estate, service providing, personal /public office space, or store space for your business) having consistency and predictability of your operating costs is an invaluable asset to you. As a resident land-owner knowing your monthly fees for your land will remain the same over the course of time provides you security of knowing you have affordable land that will not succumb to increased region fees in the future.
Island Oasis has no set schedule nor immediate plan to increase its pricing structure, so this is no scare tactic of "buy land now while its cheap". Instead, this Island Oasis' way of respecting and protecting the investment of its entire user base. Over the course of time it is natural for the overall operating costs of a grid to increase and only natural that the grid charges more, mirroring those increases. There is no foreseeable way to predict if or when pricing will change in the future since it is primarily based on the overhead costs of operating the grid and pricing in Island Oasis will never be affected simply to make more money. By offering Grandfathered Pricing Island Oasis can assure all landowners it's time to breathe a sigh of relief in the face of those would be scare-mongers warning that a growing grid will increase its prices.
In short when you purchase land from Island Oasis you are GUARANTEED that your fees for the land will not change as long as you have that land, regardless if later Island Oasis should happen to ever change its price for land. There is neither a minimum land purchase nor maximum land purchase to qualify for grandfathered pricing. Even the lowest cost sim, the Premium region (currently available for just $15 USD per month) is guaranteed to stay at your original purchase price for as long as you own that particular type of region.
Island Oasis recognizes the need for flexibility for the landowner as well. All regions can up upgraded or downgraded at the purchaser's request. How Grandfathered Pricing works is simple; whatever the price is when you first get your land is what it will stay at as long as you own that type of land. If you choose to trade the type of land you have for a higher priced type, (example: leaving behind your Premium region for a Full Prim region) you are then automatically guaranteed that your new purchase price for your newly upgraded land will not increase for as long as you own the land. Tonight's meeting was the scheduled make-up meeting for the previous weeks missed Thurday night Town Hall Meeting. Topics covered were those revisited from last Friday's morning meeting with some additional new announcements. The notes that follow were taken by Gemini Paolino who heads the Mentor Dept and additional information was contributed by Alysin Palino who heads the Marketing Dept.

IO Welcome Zone gets Makeover

Sugar and Demean Paolino have given the Welcome Zone a makeover. This new look give a more open and spacious feel to it along with making the Welcome Zone more user friendly. At the landing spot you can quickly see which Paolinos (IO Staff) are logged in. There are also mailboxes for the Paolino Staff that anyone can leave a notecard in the mailbox. There are now information kiosks (stands) which will give you information such as buying land, joining the IO Chat group, Scripting on IO, listing your items on Marketplace, landmark for the monthly Town Hall meeting and the Pay It Forward Program.
There are new benches that have been added and new table and chair sets have been added. These are sculpt sets so if you are having any issues rezzing then go to the advanced menu of your viewer (contrl+alt+D to enable advanced menu) at the bottom of the pull down menu select Debug Settings, then type in rendervolumeLOD in thesearch field and set the rendervolumeLOD to 4 to best see all sculpts.
Feedback on the newly remodeled Welcome Zone has been phenomenal. We hope you enjoy and it serve new and existing residents alike.

Town Hall Meeting- Schedule change
The Town Hall meeting for Thursday night has been canceled. We are rescheduling the October 4th Thursday night 5pm Town Hall Meeting to October 11, 2012 at 5pm IO time. The Friday 10am (IO time) Town Hall Meeting will not change. We hope to see you Friday morning at the meeting. For those of you who cannot make the Friday morning time slot, please plan on attending next Thursday night.
